The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship at Haverford College is an institution that funds international internships for students and recent graduates. When I met with the center directors they had students sending applications as email attachments and needed a more efficient way to manage the incoming data of prospective applicants.. The catch of the project was the requirement that that system integrate with their existing FilemakerPro database!
the solution
I created a custom web application system which lets users create a profile, edit applications, and submit requests for recommendations to professors. It allows program managers to manage applications, users, and application deadlines and receive recommendations from faculty. I also created an interface to download XML files to FileMaker and custom Filemaker reports for print and screen.
